Romantic Weekend Ideas-Part Two

Since no-one reads to the bottom of long blog posts, I decided to split this into two, particularly as I have three more briefs to cover!

Hannah

"Mine would be anywhere kid free! Preferably a hotel with great restaurant, good view, and spa so I don’t have to leave the building for a few days".

My recommendation for Hannah would be Chewton Glen in the New Forest. It ticks all the boxes, with utterly fabulous food, gorgeous views and a spa with a hydrotherapy pool, nail studio, aromatherapy rooms, steam room and twelve treatment rooms offering a whole host of treatments. With all of that on offer Hannah, you won’t want to leave, except perhaps to enjoy a short walk to the beach.

Chewton Glen also has some rather gorgeous tree houses set away from the main hotel building. The largest of which is The Yews, which sleeps up to four adults and eight children, not suitable for a romantic break perhaps, so maybe one for another day.

Liz

"Something really comfortable, but out of the way in beautiful countryside".

Now Liz’s request is quite modest, and whilst the Hotel Endsleigh might suit Hannah very well, I am also going to suggest Lucknam Park in Colerne, Wiltshire, specifically a Grand Suite with a four poster bed. Set in 500 acres of beautiful Cotswold countryside and just twenty minutes drive from Bath, Lucknam Park is one of England’s greatest country house hotels, with a Michelin Star restaurant, a spa with an half indoor/outdoor hydrotherapy and Wellbeing House with some rather unusual therapies. There is also an equestrian centre and a cookery school, and tennis courts and bicycles for the more active, or in case you over indulge.

Victoria

"My idea of a romantic break is kid free! Seriously, as a mum of a 2 and a 3 year old, romantic breaks are where my children aren’t! It would also include something geeky too. Studio tours, shows, concerts etc".

For Victoria I am suggesting Ham Yard, one of the Firmdale Hotels in London, because I think she needs some grown up fun and glamour. Located in Soho, the property has a rooftop terrace, a vintage bowling alley and a private screening room. It is sexy, chic, classy, has a fabulous bar and even a tree filled garden, it is located at the centre of all the action and perfectly placed for shows and concerts, and the fabulous Curzon Cinema is just around the corner. The Terrace Suite would be a fantastic, push the boat out option, but all the rooms are totally gorgeous.

For more information on any of the suggested properties, their upcoming offers, how they can make your stay special, or to book your stay, email me on janet@janetmactavish.travel and let's make it a romantic break to remember.
